From April 23 to 25, the delegation of Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University (STU) visited Shihezi University as part of the 11th Board Meeting of the Confucius Institute.
The delegation included the Rector, Prof. Saule Sagintayeva, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Prof. Ali Mekhtiyev, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Digitalisation Dr. Timur Kanapyanov, and Director of the Confucius Institute Dr. Tatiana Filippova.
During the Board Meeting, the report on the activities of the Confucius Institute for 2024, as well as the plan and key areas of work for 2025, were presented and approved.
The meeting was held in an open discussion format, with participation from Board members of the Confucius Institute at Shihezi University, led by Rector Li Zhaomin, as well as faculty members and staff.
During the visit, working meetings were also held with the leadership of Shihezi University, including the Party Committee Secretary Xu Shandong.
The STU delegation visited academic laboratories, smart classrooms, libraries, and the university museum.
New formats of cooperation were discussed, including academic exchange programmes, dual-degree master’s programmes, and joint scientific research projects at the Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
The STU delegation expressed its sincere gratitude to the Chinese colleagues for the warm welcome and the high level of organisation of the visit.
