The department’s research scientific work is carried out in accordance with the plans for state, extra and action themes jointly with the «Computer Engineering and Software» and «Information systems» departments.
In early 2010, members of the «Информатика» department participated in three competitions for additional funding. One of them application, dedicated to developing new, high technology has been applied for participation in the competition for the first President of the Foundation. Two of them has been applied for participation in the “Innovation and risk research” competition. To date, we know that all of them applications were selected the first stage of competitive selection.
The teachers of department yearly participate in international and regional scientifically-practical conferences (2009 -5 thesises). They publish the articles in collection of scientific works of KSTU and in Automatics and Computer Science magazines (2008г – 2 articles).
In Interuniversity student’s scientific conference of «Innovations in the technician, technology and formation» (On April, 15-16th, 2010) the next studenrs took part:

Students Tsoy V. A (ПС-09-2) and Mukashev N.S. (ВТ-08у-каз)are awarded by certificates of honor for occupied 2 place at this conference.
April 4, 2013 was International Olympiad for students in 11 classes of pre-university education and Karaganda region Karaganda Informatics. The result of the contest, the jury awarded: first place student school “Murager” Verzhbitskaya Vlad (Karaganda), second place student school № 7 Abishev Dastan (Balkhash) Third place: student school № 3 Yevgeny Frolov (g.Saran ) and student school № 38 Esentaevu Askar (Karaganda). The winners were awarded prizes and all participants were invited to enter the contest, our university.
Fair “Applicant-2013” was held in Karaganda museum. The event was attended by students, parents, a delegation from the Department of Education. University presented a video about the university, the special interests of applicants were given booklets, promotional flyers in all specialties and agitating students on admission to our university.
There are organized student’s mugs in directions of modern information technology on the Computer science department. Within the limits of the circle «Applications programming in programming languages Visual Basic 6.0 и Delphi 7» students study methods of programming applied and olympiad tasks. (The head is Kan O.A.) Within the limits of circle work «Computer graphics» are studied next programs Adobe Photoshop and Corel Draw, created difficult graphic objects for Web – sites and presentations (The head is Kudysheva G.O.)
