UESTC is one of the leading technical universities in China and is ranked among the QS World University Rankings Top 500. The signing took place with the participation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which emphasizes the high level of support for this project.
On September 4, 2025, the STU delegation, led by Rector Professor Saule Sagintayeva and Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Digitalization Timur Kanapyanov, visited the UESTC campus in Chengdu.
The visit program included:
- official negotiations with UESTC President Professor Hu Jun;
- a seminar featuring presentations by leadership and discussions of joint projects;
- a dedicated session focused on discussing the details of implementing the double degree program at the master’s level.
During the visit, a guided tour was conducted of the leading schools:
- School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
- School of Computer Science and Engineering (School of Cyber Security)
- School of Integrated Circuits Science and Engineering.
The delegation paid special attention to UESTC’s laboratories in artificial intelligence and chip design, which play a key role in the development of digital technologies and microelectronics.
STU and UESTC are partner universities united by a strategic partnership and a shared commitment to advancing science and education at the international level.
Such cooperation opens new horizons for students from Kazakhstan and strengthens the international recognition of domestic universities.
