STU continues to support student and faculty startups

The second stage of the competition for grant support of startups has been successfully completed at Saginov Technical University. The final stage, the STU DEMO DAY, became an important platform where project authors presented their ideas to the Competition Committee.

This time, 15 projects aimed at developing IT technologies, environmental solutions, social initiatives, and improving the University infrastructure were submitted to the competition. All of them underwent an incubation program in cooperation with the Terricon Valley IT HUB, during which participants acquired knowledge of unit economics, financial planning, and the other key aspects of startup activities.

Following the selection, 6 projects received grant support for the total of 28 million tenge. One of them, with a high scientific and applied value, received additional funding of 10 million tenge.

In addition to the financial assistance, teams are provided with access to mentoring support and University resources, which contributes to the further development of projects.

The STU DEMO DAY became for participants not only an opportunity to receive funding but also an important step in professional growth. Such initiatives open up real prospects for implementing the ideas of students and teachers.

The University intends to further develop the startup ecosystem, expanding the innovation infrastructure and strengthening support for projects.
