In order to ensure the effective integration of science, education, industry, and business, an Innovation and Educational Consortium “Corporate University” (CU) was established on the basis of the university.
The Corporate University not only contributes to improving the quality of the educational process but also ensures effective scientific and technical collaboration aimed at developing new equipment and technologies, as well as implementing research outcomes into production.
The main areas of activity of the Corporate University include:
• conducting scientific and scientific-technical research commissioned by organizations within the framework of contractual agreements;
• involving specialists from partner organizations in the implementation of state-funded projects;
• solving industrial scientific and technical problems within the framework of initiative topics, doctoral and master’s dissertations, diploma, and course projects;
• attracting organizations to co-finance state-funded research projects;
• participation of partner organizations as co-executors in submitting applications for state research funding;
• providing the material and technical base of enterprises for experimental research;
• assisting in the implementation of R&D and engineering outcomes in partner enterprises;
• publishing joint R&D results in the form of scientific articles, conference papers, and monographs;
• patenting joint inventions;
• forming a database of industrial scientific and technical challenges;
• participating in scientific and industrial exhibitions;
• professional development and qualification enhancement of university academic staff at CU partner enterprises;
• professional development of CU partner organization employees at Karaganda Technical University (KarTU).
Currently, the Corporate University unites 86 system-forming industrial enterprises and scientific centers of Kazakhstan, including major city-forming companies such as Kazakhmys Corporation LLP, Qarmet JSC, Sokolov-Sarbai Mining and Processing Production Association JSC, Shubarkol Komir JSC, Zhairem Mining and Processing Plant JSC, Bogatyr Komir LLP, as well as international partners such as Borusan Makina LLP and Minsk Tractor Plant OJSC, among others.
In addition, the CU includes foreign universities from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Tomsk, Tyumen, and Bukhara.
In recent years, scientific and technical cooperation between Karaganda Technical University and the enterprises of the Corporate University has significantly intensified.
