Opening of the educational center “KSTU-Mitsubishi-Electric-Kazpromavtomatika”


14 June, the solemn opening of the educational center “KSTU-Mitsubishi-Electric-Kazpromavtomatika” was held at Karaganda State Technical University with the support of Kazpromavtomatika at Department of Power Engineering, Automation, and Telecommunications. The opening ceremony was attended by the rector of the University M.K. Ibatov, head of Department of Automation of Production Processes I.V. Breido, group CEO of Mitsubishi Electric Hiroshi Furuta and representatives of the company “Kazpromavtomatika””.

This is not the first case when the Karaganda University is working with global companies. Study centers in collaboration with leading companies such as Total, Ersai, Siemens, Festo, Leica Geosystems Kazakhstan, Schneider Electric and others are organized at KSTU. The establishment of such training centers allows the University to significantly upgrade the educational process and the training of students, undergraduates in engineering. Also, there are trainings in industry on the equipment of leading companies. The new training center is equipped in accordance with world standards, equipped with multiple sets of advanced automation equipment from Mitsubishi Electric, which controllers, operator panels, frequency converters and servo system.

At the opening ceremony of the centre, rector of KSTU M.K. Ibatov said that the opening of the center represents a milestone for our University and in the whole of Central Kazakhstan, which indicates the real contribution of advanced Japanese companies and innovative companies of Kazakhstan in training specialists and the development of industry of our country. “Kazpromavtomatika” is the only in Kazakhstan distributor of Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation since 2004. It is worth noting that the company Kazpromavtomatika and Karaganda State Technical University cooperates with more than 10 years. A significant portion of the company’s employees, numbering more than 100 workers – graduates of the Department of Automation of Production Processes, graduated from KSTU. “Kazpromavtomatika” donated to the University equipment to 6.5 million KZT for further development of joint projects.

– Opening of the training center will allow us to combine the achievements of Japanese and Kazakhstani engineers. We plan to implement joint efforts in the design, installation, repair of mining, metallurgical, energy, explosion-proof electrical equipment, lifting equipment” — said Technical Director of “Kazpromavtomatika” D.A. Lepekhov.

According to the head of the Japanese company Hiroshi Furuta, Kazakh specialists showed themselves only from the good side over the years of cooperation. He also noted that the Japanese company looks forward to continue close relations and is ready to provide full support in the technical equipment of the training center.

Training center “KSTU-Mitsubishi-Electric-Kazpromavtomatika” consists of two laboratories. One is in University at the Department of Automation of Production Processes, and the second in “Kazpromavtomatika”.
