At the university, the following research projects are being carried out in accordance with ESG goals, funded by the government as part of a grant project in the field of ecology:

A project is being implemented in the field of humanitarian and social research:

The following projects have been approved and are awaiting funding:

  • Development of anti-blowout measures during mining operations in geological fault zones – Project Leader: Aitpaeva A.R.
  • Study of the forms of occurrence of rare earth elements and precious metals in copper-nickel and copper ores of the Ulytau region – Project Leader: Li E.S.
  • Geomechanical justification of technological solutions for the efficient development of low-power gold deposits aimed at reducing ore losses and dilution – Project Leader: Mataev A.K.
  • Study of the mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of coals and coal ashes from the coal deposits of Central Kazakhstan – Project Leader: Amangeldikyzy A.
  • Development of effective underground geotechnology schemes ensuring higher recovery of ore bodies – Project Leader: Suimbayeva A.M.
  • Development of a technology for extracting mine methane from underground reservoirs for its useful utilization on the surface, ensuring environmental safety – Project Leader: Isabek T.K.

Alongside grant-funded projects, an internal startup project is also being implemented.

The startup’s activities are focused on providing agricultural land survey services using drones and artificial intelligence technologies to monitor crop conditions, detect issues, and improve yields. https://agrosky.kz/

The university actively implements initiatives in support of the national “Taza Kazakhstan” campaign within the framework of its ESG strategy and the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, contributing to the strengthening of environmental awareness, youth engagement in environmental protection, and the development of a culture of sustainable future.
