Selection of students to study at the military Department

 

The selection of students for training at the military Department is carried out annually by the selection Committee on the basis of a competition in accordance with the recruitment plan.

Acceptance of documents by the military Department ends 10 working days before the start of the selection Committee.

Students under the age of 24 are allowed to participate in the competition for the year of the competition.

The competition for selecting students to study at the military Department is carried out in four stages:

the first stage is to undergo medical examination in accordance with the Rules of carrying out military-medical examination and Regulation on bodies of military-medical examination in armed forces of Kazakhstan, approved by order of Minister of defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan from July 2, 2015 No. 373 (registered in the Register of state registration of normative legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan under No. 11846);

the second stage – carrying out professional and psychological testing;

the third stage is a physical fitness check;

the fourth stage is a competitive selection, carried out in accordance with the calculation of the rating score, compiled and approved by the head of the University.

Each stage of the competition can be completed once.

The rules of work of the selection Committee are determined by the management of ovpo, according to the academic calendar.

The work of the selection Committee begins no later than 10 working days after the end of the summer session, according to the academic calendar of the University.

For quality of formation of the reserve of specialists required for manning the armed forces of RK, the composition and terms of work of the selection Committee are determined by the first Deputy Minister of defence – chief of General staff of the armed forces.

The selection Committee consists of an odd number of members (at least 5 people), which includes:

1) Chairman of the Commission – head of the military Department;

2) Deputy Chairman of the Commission – an officer of the armed forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, determined by the structural unit responsible for personnel issues;

3) a serviceman of the military police of the armed forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

4) representative of the Department of physical education and sports of the University;

5) a representative from the faculty of the University (not the military Department), determined by its head.

The Secretary of the Commission is a representative of the military Department of ovpo (without the right to vote).

For training in the reserve officer training program, documents are accepted from first-year (4-year) and second-year (5-year) students.

For training under the reserve sergeants training program, documents are accepted from students of the first, second (with 4-year training) and first, second, third years (with 5-year training).

Military training ends with a training camp (professional practice) one year before the end of training at the University.

A student who has expressed a desire to participate in the competition for training at the military Department, draws up an application form.

To pass a medical examination, students are given issued medical examination cards at the military Department. Medical examination of students is carried out in the local military authorities from February 1 of the year of admission. To participate in the competitive selection, the results of the medical examination on form 7 are submitted to the military Department no later than 10 working days before the start of the selection Committee.

Students who have not passed a medical examination are not allowed to participate in the competition.

Physical fitness of students is evaluated by the results of passing the standards for physical culture. Students who do not score 8 points on the sum of passing three standards are considered not to have passed the competition stage.

Professional psychological testing of students is conducted in computer classes of the University and includes checking the level of motivation, stress resistance, critical and logical thinking.

The results of passing the professional and psychological selection and physical fitness are taken into account in the statements, which are signed by the members of the Commission.

Students who are ranked from the first number to the number corresponding to the number of allocated places according to the recruitment plan are allowed to study at the military Department for free.

A student who does not agree with the results of the competition stages, on the same day, submits a written application (in any form) to the Chairman of the selection Committee.

The decision of the selection Committee on the merits of the application, drawn up in the Protocol, is taken within 1 calendar day from the date of receipt of the application with the wording “satisfy” or”refuse”.

The results of the competition are posted until 17.00 on the next day after the end of the selection Committee at the information stand of the military Department.
