At the military department during the training time, classes are held on the subjects “Military law”, “Methodology of educational and ideological work”, “Fundamentals of military law and military administration”, “Fundamentals of military pedagogy and psychology”, where students learn the basics of military pedagogy and psychology, laws Of the Republic of Kazakhstan: “On Defense and Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, “On Military Duty and Military Service”, “Military Doctrine of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, “Law on the Status and Social Protection of Military Personnel and Members of Their Families”, “Corner Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ”(section military crimes), Geneva Conventions of August 12, 1949 and their additional protocols of June 8, 1977. During the hours of self-preparation, each month, those responsible for the platoon summarize the results of training, watch films on military and military-patriotic topics. Monthly discussions are held on cultural, moral and socio-political topics.
On the days of professional festivals, “Tankman’s Day”, “Day of the Military Signalman”, and “Day of the Missile Forces and Artillery”, festive events are held to encourage distinguished teachers and students, and to watch films on relevant topics.
In a festive, festive atmosphere with the invitation of the media, veterans of the Armed Forces, representatives of the regional department of defense affairs, the commander of the regional command “Astana”, a solemn event is held annually to mark the graduation of students who graduated from the military department.
Meetings and discussions are being held on the day of the withdrawal of a limited contingent of troops from Afghanistan with participants in the events: the professor of the military department, retired Lt. Col. N. Luzin, the employee of the military department, reserve sergeant Fakhretdinov R.F., with an electronic presentation and the film “The Last Soldier of Afghanistan” “. In order to engage students in the public life of the department, in each platoon, the editors of the worksheets are appointed and periodically change their duties, which include the issuance of battle sheets, which reflect, through the eyes of students, the problems and successes of the department staff, cycle, platoon. In order to promote the heroic past and present of our people, portraits of historical figures of Kazakhstan are placed in the assembly hall of the department.
In the foyer of the department and in the assembly hall stands are placed on the history and state symbols of Kazakhstan, the Armed Forces.
For several years, tours of the military department have been conducted with students of schools, colleges, lyceums in Karaganda, during which students have the opportunity to get acquainted with the equipment and weapons available at the military department and its history, up to 400 people participate annually.

|PROKOPOVICH Dmitry Vsevolodovich – police lieutenant colonel, senior adviser to the representative office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR in the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan, military unit 82616. He was born on 08/28/1945 in the city of Uralsk, Kazakh SSR, Ukrainian. In 1968 he graduated from the Karaganda Polytechnic Institute with a degree in welding engineer. He received military training at the military department of the KPTI, and was awarded the title of “lieutenant”. He graduated from the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR. He was drafted into the Soviet Army on 10/07/1968 by the Lenin regional military enlistment office of the city of Karaganda.
He served in the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan from 06/22/1987 to 09/19/1988 as a senior operational officer at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Afghanistan.
According to him, two bombing attacks and six artillery raids on the deployment of the leaders of the gangs of Sufa-Fasul were inflicted.
Khan-Ogo and Dangar, a caravan of 36 pack animals with weapons and ammunition in the Karabag region was destroyed.
For conscientious performance of military duty, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star. He died on April 12, 1989.
He was buried on 04/14/1989 at the Mikhailovsky (old) cemetery in Karaganda.
|VESELSKY Victor Stanislavovich – captain, platoon commander of the military unit 93992. Born on January 15, 1949 in Karaganda, Russian, higher education, graduated from secondary school No. 43 and the Karaganda Polytechnic Institute. Military training was held at the military department of the institute with the assignment of the military rank of lieutenant. He was drafted into the Soviet Army in 1972 by the Alatau District Military Commissariat of the city of Almaty.
From October 1972 to 1974 he served in the Central Group of Forces in Germany in various military posts.
In the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan, he served as platoon commander from 1979 to January 12, 1980. He died on January 12, 1980, while performing a combat mission.
He was buried in the Ryskulov cemetery in the city of Almaty. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star and the medal “From the grateful Afghan people.”
