The Department of Foreign Languages organised an educational event dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Kazakhstan: ‘Festival of the Peoples of Kazakhstan’


The Department of Foreign Languages of Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University organised a special event dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Kazakhstan together with students and teachers. This important holiday, celebrated on 1 May, is an occasion for our university to welcome and celebrate the rich cultural heritage and multinational character of our country. The event was held in the educational building No.1, aud.521. 40 students and faculty members of the department took part.

The event ‘Festival of the Peoples of Kazakhstan’ began with warm greetings and words of congratulations. Then followed a lively discussion among students about what this holiday means to them and what aspects of its history and meaning they know and about the importance of this day for the society of Kazakhstan.  The event continued with an exciting concert programme where students performed dances, songs and presented traditions of different cultures living in Kazakhstan. They shared their impressions of national culinary delights, presenting dishes of Kazakh, Russian, Korean, English, Indian and Caucasian cuisines. Performing magnificently in national costumes, the students conveyed the authenticity and beauty of their nations’ traditions. They also emphasised the importance of the conditions created in Kazakhstan for the preservation and promotion of the diversity of cultures, mentioning the schools with a national bias.

The Day of Unity of the Peoples of Kazakhstan has a deep historical significance. This holiday reflects the spirit of mutual understanding, solidarity and respect for the diversity of our society. It reminds us of the importance of joint efforts of all ethnic groups in building a united and prosperous state.
