Curator Hour at the College: “Easy Money at the Cost of Freedom: How Not to Fall into Scammers’ Trap”

The session was dedicated to one of the most pressing issues — the involvement of teenagers and young people in illegal schemes of drug traffickers.

🎭 In the format of a role-playing game, students saw how easily one can fall for the “convincing” promises of scammers. Some firmly said “no,” some hesitated, and some believed in easy money. This demonstrated how dangerous manipulative influence can be.

⚖️ The discussion also covered Article 297 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which addresses responsibility for possession and distribution of narcotics, along with real-life stories of ruined lives.

💡 Key reminders:

  • “By agreeing to someone else’s request, you may be signing up for your own misfortune.”
  • “Easy money is rarely honest, and honest money is rarely easy.”
  • “Those who chase quick profit often become the prey themselves.”

❌ Legal responsibility starts at age 16 (and from 14 for especially serious crimes).
