October has been a month full of meetings with international guests for Saginov Technical University. Immediately following the visit of the French Embassy representatives, on October 16, the university leadership, headed by the Chairman of the Board – Rector, Saule Sagintaeva, welcomed guests from Latvia.
The head of the Latvian delegation, Dace Rutka, Advisor to the Latvian Ambassador, explained the purpose of the meeting. She emphasized that Kazakhstan is currently Latvia’s main partner in Central Asia and acknowledged that cooperation has developed significantly in the economic and political spheres. However, in the cultural and educational sectors, cooperation remains limited. The objective of this meeting was to bridge this gap.
The discussion focused on how to achieve this, where to begin, and the opportunities Latvian universities and their branches could offer. The Latvian guests presented their ideas on these topics.
In turn, the university presented a detailed overview, including a video about student life, giving the guests a deeper understanding of one of Kazakhstan’s leading technical universities.
Rector Saule Sagintaeva and other participants expressed their strong commitment to mutually beneficial cooperation with their Latvian counterparts.
Initial steps have been taken, and key areas for collaboration have been outlined. As a result, cooperation with Latvian colleagues is set to continue growing and strengthening.
