On July 11, Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University was visited by a Chinese delegation for an introductory meeting. The delegation included Mr. Liu Yumin, Director of the Market Development Department of China Railway Asia – Europe Construction Investment Co., Ltd., and Mr. Bekmukhan Zhaidar, Senior Business Manager and Interpreter.
The guests were welcomed by Chairman of the Board – Rector Saule Sagintayeva, Board Members – Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Ali Mekhtiyev, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Digitalization Timur Kanapyanov, and Director of the Institute of Continuing Education Nurlan Altynbekov, who introduced them to the university.
A more detailed presentation on the university, its history, personnel, and technical potential — as a recognized training center not only for the Karaganda region but for the entire country — was delivered by Timur Kanapyanov. He placed particular emphasis on international cooperation, including with Shihezi University in China, with which a memorandum of understanding has been signed. The developing and strengthening partnership between our universities stands as a vivid example of fruitful inter-university collaboration.
In turn, the guests spoke about China Railway Asia – Europe Construction Investment Co., Ltd., which is already well known in Kazakhstan for its involvement in the country’s transportation infrastructure, including the LRT project in Astana. Their presentation was supported by an informative video showcasing the company’s operations and achievements.
During the meeting, a number of important topics were discussed – from the development of scientific potential to the recruitment of Chinese students to study at our university, one of the leading technical institutions in the Republic.
The mutual interest in cooperation promises encouraging and mutually beneficial prospects.
