The popularity that Abylkas Saginov KTU enjoys among applicants from the region and the Republic has long been known. Rumors about the recognized forge of personnel since Soviet times are supported by new facts about graduates who multiply its fame.
But in recent years, interest in the University has noticeably increased from foreign applicants. Thus, this year, natives of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan expressed a desire to become students of our University. Recently, an applicant from Russia, Sofia Savateyeva, applied to the Admissions Committee with a corresponding application.
It would seem that in the Russian capital, where she is from, there is no shortage of a variety of universities. But after consulting with her family, Sofia gave preference to studying at Abylkas Saginov KTU. A large role in this choice was played by her friend, Valeria Miller, who, having dropped out of the Moscow university after the first year, decided to study in her native Karaganda. How did Sofia decide to do this? Before making a choice that surprised many of her friends, she carefully studied all the available information of Abylkas Saginov KTU. She was quite satisfied with it, as was her friend’s story about the city itself. Sofia’s first impressions when getting to know Karaganda and the University, organization of the Admissions Committee, the cool campus, and the friendly attitude of the Kazakhs only strengthened her confidence in the correctness of her choice.
But most importantly, she found a specialty at the University related to geology, exploration and prospecting. After all, she dreamed of becoming a geologist since childhood. At Abylkas Saginov KTU, as she learned through the Internet and acquaintances, the faculty is especially strong. In addition, there is an opportunity for graduates to find employment in large international companies.
As emphasized by Member of the Board, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Digitalization Timur Kanapyanov, who was one of the first to congratulate Sofia on her decision to continue her education at our University, we are trying to create an inclusive environment in which all the students, regardless of nationality, citizenship, felt comfortable, found their place here, friends, and managed to realize themselves in their chosen profession.
By the way, Sofia has a chance to become the owner of one of 500 laptops that will be presented as a gift to first-year students for the duration of their studies. Congratulations on choosing our University! We wish you success in your chosen field from the bottom of our hearts!
