On February 21, 2020, employees of the KSU “Youth Resource Center” at the Department of Internal Policy of the city of Karaganda organized a meeting of students of the College of Innovative Technologies of KarSTU with theologians from the Department of Religion and with representatives of the central police department. The agenda included the discussion of topical aspects of the educational process: the influence of religious extremism on young people, the prevention of non – traditional religious movements. Anuar Blyalov, a specialist of the center for Religious Studies, which was opened at the Department of Religious Affairs of the Karaganda region, told the students about the history of the emergence of international terrorism and religious extremism. He dwelt on the harm they do to society and to young people, who are most exposed to the influence of radical Islam. It is our duty to protect young people from all evil and to guide them on the right path, and to achieve this, we must all fight against this evil together. After all, the future of the country depends on the younger generation. And you need to start religious education from the school bench. That’s what theologians think. The students had a lot of questions, as a result of the discussion of which the students heard reasonable, comprehensive answers, received reliable information from leading experts in the field of religion. The event was also attended by representatives of law enforcement agencies, teachers and students of the College of Innovative Technologies of KarSTU.
