For the first time in the history of the University from 20 to 25 October 2014 leading scientists of Karaganda state technical University in the framework of the cooperation agreement has hosted a series of training sessions and scientific advice at the University of Shihezi, which caters to more than 30,000 people, including students from Kazakhstan. This large regional UNIVERSITY in China is a strategic partner of KSTU by the Confucius Institute. In the Confucius Institute at KSTU work courses of Chinese language and culture, held internships in China in the form of a summer language course at the University of Shihezi, as well as activities in the framework of the international competition “Chinese bridge”, testing for the Chinese language based on the standard HSK.
This year began a new stage of scientific and academic cooperation between our universities.
The purpose of the working visit of teachers from KSTU – exchange of experience and achievements in education and science. The format of the visit was held within the framework of academic mobility, i.e. teachers KSTU lectured on appropriate specialties for students, undergraduates and teachers. For the same audience, the faculty of the University of Shihezi lectured on the subject. Lectures were given in three languages: Chinese, Russian, and English.
The delegation of KSTU covered topical for the University of Shihezi research areas and educational programs, such as:
• architecture and construction (Professor Nuguzhinov J.S);
• automation of production processes (Professor Breido I.V);
• mechanics (associate Professor Filippova T.S.);
• Economics (Professor Koshebaeva G.K.);
• new chemical technologies (associate Professor Kabieva S.K.);
• materials science (associate Professor Kvon Sv.S);
• Russian language (associate Professor Ospanova B.R).
Training and scientific consultations were held in institutions: economy and trade, electrical, hydraulic construction, chemical, educational, foreign languages, culture and art.
Students of the University of Shihezi were presented courses, including innovative development of scientific schools of KSTU in these areas. After each lecture the Chinese students were asked a lot of questions on the topic of lectures and General: about the education system in Kazakhstan, the priority of scientific directions, student life, etc.
When summing up the results of joint work by both parties emphasized the need for further cooperation and development of academic mobility among teachers and students, finding common scientific interests, the creation of an international research groups.
Both sides noted that they consider this visit as an important step, which will open a new stage of cooperation between the two universities, as it is part of implemented joint historical, cultural and economic development of our countries – the “Great silk road”. It should also be noted that on 14 may 2014 for the first time in Kazakhstan on the basis of KSTU was held the II international forum “Economic zone of the silk road: the joint development of China and Central Asia”. In addition, on July 26, 2014 KSTU was visited by a delegation of Industrialists of the people’s Republic of China, representing the leadership of the energy Corporation “Tsinghua”. The guests got acquainted with the educational and scientific-technical base of the University and held a meeting with the deans, heads of departments and leading scientists on the issue of training of engineers for the project for the complex processing of coal in the Karaganda region.
