The research team of Saginov Technical University has visited the Macao University of Science and Technology (MUST), China and has conducted the joint researches with the scholars of the International College of Education, professors Shuxiang You and Lei Pou Cheng, in the frame of the project “Enhancing scientific and professional language learning for engineering students in Kazakhstan through Digital Technologies”. During the fruitful collaborative work there has been discussed the issues of STEM language training engineers and the role of digital technologies in it including AI benefits and challenges. Moreover, at the meeting with language professors and educators there has been discussed the issues of cooperation between our Universities – STU and MUST for students’ internship on teaching Chinese language to students of STU, teaching staff exchange mobility for a semester and joint research projects’ development.
Professor Damira Jantassova and junior researcher, Daniel Damiyev have actively participated in the Times Higher Education Asian Universities Summit (22-24 April, 2025) devoted to the development of Asian higher education and creation of Asian educational hub in Hong Kong. At the Summit the Universities’ leaders have been raised the urgent issues of the higher education such as strategic communication for the university researchers, digital pedagogy with decreased dependence of technologies, international diversity of researchers as an assurance way to have highly-qualified researches taking into account the Atlas Diversity, community-based researches, creativity via coexistence with AI and the important role of humanity in using AI. Much attention was given to the industry-engaged education with the rising the industry income at the Universities.
At the Asian University Exhibition, the STU team held a campaign to promote Saginov University among high school graduates and students to enroll in our university. The potential students were highly interested in studying in Kazakhstan.
The strong impact of the visit to MUST has been made on the project outcomes and professional development of the STU researchers.
