On September 20, 2019, the Department of the Russian Language and Culture of Speech of KSTU in KSU “ғоғамдық келісім” of the apparatus of the akim of the Karaganda region (House of Friendship) as part of the nationwide program “Rukhani zhagyru” and the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the “Law on Languages in the Republic of Kazakhstan” held the Regional Round table on the theme “The fate of the language – the fate of the people.”
The round table was attended by teachers and students of KSTU, KarSU named after Buketov, NAO of the Medical University of Karaganda, the Bolashak Academy, representatives of ethnocultural associations of the Karaganda region.
The following issues were discussed during the event:
– the impact of the integrative processes of society on the study of languages;
– Prospects for multicultural and multilingual education in the Republic of Kazakhstan;
– language learning in close interconnection with culture, traditions, art and history of the people.
The presentations of the participants caused a positive response from the students present at the event, since the content of the reports concerned actual problems of the language policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the end of the event, the round table was summarized: all languages should interact, develop together, enriching each other, promoting mutual understanding between peoples. Interethnic harmony and friendship of peoples is the basis for the development of languages and the state as a whole.
