Ozhigin Sergey Georgiyevich, was born in 1962, in 1984 he graduated from Karaganda polytechnical institute (KarPTI) majoring in “Mine Surveying “, qualification “mine surveying engineer”. Upon termination of institute worked at the department of geodesy and mine surveying of KarPTI in the research laboratory (RL) “Rock Displacement” as the senior engineer and later as junior researcher. From 1988 to 1990 – studied as a full-time postgraduate (“Mine Surveying” specialty). In 1990-1992 – research associate SRL “Rock Displacement”. From 1992 to 1997 — divisional mine surveyor, in 1997 is appointed the head of department of technical monitoring of OJSC” Shubarkolsky razrez”. Since 1999 – during 2001 the doctoral candidate of the Karaganda state technical university (KSTU). From 2001 to 2006. — associate professor of mine surveying and geodesy (MS&G) department of KSTU. 2006 – 2009 – the head of science and international cooperation department of KSTU. 2009-2011 — associate professor of MS&G department, since 2011 professor of the same department. The expert in the field of mining geomechanics and mine surveying.
In 1994 defended the master’s thesis on the subject “Numerical and Analytical Way of Calculation of Stability of Career Slopes in Sandy-argillaceous formations” – 05.15.01 “Mine surveying” speciality.
In 2010 defended the doctoral dissertation on the subject “Management of Stability the Rock Massifs of Quarries of Kazakhstan” – 25.00.16 — “Mining and oil and gas geology, a geophysics, surveying business and geometry of a subsoil” speciality.
Since 2010 is a member of Public council of the basic organization of the State Parties of the CIS for training in the field of geodesy, cartography, cadaster and remote sensing of Earth (MIIGAiK).
Since 2011 is a part of Central office of the Union of mine surveyors of Kazakhstan, is the Executive director of the Union of Mine surveyors of Kazakhstan.
Since 2012 – the academician of the Euroasian international academy of ecology, health and safety.
Scientific researches of Ozhigin S.G. are bound to a solution of the problem of creation of systems of monitoring of a condition of stability the Rock massifs of quarries and dumps in which he is engaged on an extent of more than 25 years. During this time he published more than 120 printing scientific and methodical works, monographs and a textbook, 10 manuals, electronic textbooks and a study guide, 3 copyright certificates on inventions and the prepatent, prepared SSE, standard and working programs. Conducts the active teaching work of training in the field of mining, geodesy and cartography.
Eexecuted theoretical researches are inseparably linked with inquiries of production, are caused by need of the solution of practical questions and tasks. Ozhigin S.G. takes the fissile part in research at a number of the mining enterprises of Kazakhstan being the executive and the research supervisor of scientific research subjects on a number of contracts with the mining enterprises of Kazakhstan: JSC SSGPO, Kazakhmys Corporation LLP, JSC Zhayremsky GOK, JSC Vasilkovsky GOK, JSC Shubarkol Komir, Karazhyra LTD LLP, RU “Kazmarganets”, East Mine Administration LLP, etc. As a result of scientific activity of Ozhigin S.G. control system of stability the Rock massifs of the quarries, based on results of geological and surveying geomechanical monitoring, within which observing stations are installed at the mining enterprises, the structure and properties of rocks are studied, rational parameters of steady career slopes are proved and introduced in projects. The actual economic effect of Ozhigin S.G. development made 767,8 million tg.
