(Effective until the adoption of the “Regulations on Uniform Requirements for the Development of Educational and Methodological Literature for the Award of the Stamp of the Educational and Methodological Association of the Republican Educational and Methodological Council”)
To address the issue of awarding the stamp of the EMA–PMG REMC, the applicant (author or team of authors) must submit the following materials to the Chairperson of the EMA–PMG REMC:
- A cover letter signed by the head of the university or organization indicating the title of the educational publication, the full names of the author(s) and reviewers, the planned print run, the volume, and the name of the discipline for which the educational publication was developed (Appendix 1).
- An application from the author (or the team of authors) requesting the organization of an expert review of the educational publication (Appendix 2).
- A manuscript of the printed educational publication with a volume of at least 15 author’s sheets for a textbook and 6 author’s sheets for a study guide or practical manual.
- The manuscript may be submitted in A4 or A5 format.
- Page numbering should start from the third page, positioned at the bottom center or side, taking into account odd and even pages (on odd pages – right side, on even pages – left side, mirror layout).Page numbers should be in the same font as the main text of the manuscript.
- Margins (top, bottom, right, left) must be 2 cm.
- Line spacing is single.
- Headings should be in bold font: chapters and sections in uppercase letters, subsections and paragraphs in lowercase.
- Paragraph indentation should be 1 cm (5 spaces).
- At the end of each subsection, include a list of at least five review questions.
- Recommended literature should be placed at the end of the publication, with no more than five primary sources and ten additional sources.
- For A5 format (148×210 mm): main font size – 11 pt (Times New Roman for Russian text, Kz Times New Roman for Kazakh text), auxiliary font size – 9 pt for text in tables, notes, table of contents, bibliography, and figure captions.
- For A4 format (210×297 mm): main font size – 14 pt (Times New Roman for Russian text, Kz Times New Roman for Kazakh text), auxiliary font size – 12 pt.
- The printed educational publication must be submitted as a manuscript without editorial revision, in both paper and electronic formats (in PDF).
- Three reviews of the content of the educational publication are required. One review must be provided by a specialist working at the same university (or research organization) as the applicant, and two reviews must come from specialists working at other universities (or research organizations). The reviewers must hold an academic or scholarly degree in the relevant field of knowledge.
The reviews must confirm the advisability of granting the stamp based on the compliance of the structure and content of the educational publication with the curriculum and the current level of development of science and technology, the novelty of the presented material, and its practical significance (Appendix 3).
- The curriculum of the discipline (RUP, syllabus) for which the educational publication was developed, to confirm that the author (or authors) has tested the educational publication in the teaching process.
- An extract from the minutes of the meeting of the University Academic Council.All extracts must contain a recommendation for granting the UMO RUMS approval stamp.
- A certificate confirming that the educational publication has been checked for plagiarism.
