On 8 February 2017, the members of SRI of Patriotic education on the eve of the 28th anniversary of withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, the meeting of students with the warriors-internationalists was held.
The meeting was attended by T.B. Khassenov, Chairman of “Union of veterans and war disabled in Afghanistan “Ardager” OO, Karaganda, Baikenov A.M., Vice-Chairman of “Union of veterans and war disabled in Afghanistan “Ardager” OO, Karaganda, Sakhnov S.A., Deputy Chairman of “Union of veterans and war disabled in Afghanistan “Ardager” OO in Karaganda. The members of the Board “Ardager”, veterans of the Afghan war: Zhumatayev A.M. Assylbekov K.S., Zhakanov, S.A., Taibekov B.B. There also was Turssynbekova M.U., inspector of work with youth “Youth resource centre of Karaganda region” KSE at authority on issues of youth policy of Karaganda region.
The Vice-rector of educational work Alpyssbayeva N.A. addressed with the opening speech to the participants of the meeting, noting that 28 years ago a decade of war in Afghanistan ended. These events played a significant role in the history of our country. For the first time the question of the entry of our troops into Afghanistan was put on the agenda of 15 March 1979, when anti-government rebellion of the population broke out in Herat. Afghan leaders appealed to provide military assistance in the suppression of this rebellion by Soviet troops on the territory of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan (DRA). Distant Kabul and his lifeless steppe forever entered the history of our distressful Fatherland. It is left forever as unhealed wound, because it did not bring many sons back.
The guests of the meeting told the students about the war, about how our boys were killed in a foreign land, how the sons were brought home in zinc coffins to the mothers.
The meeting was held in a warm atmosphere, students with interest listened to stories about this terrible, cruel war.
The victims were observed a minute of silence.
At the end of the meeting T.B. Khassenov, Chairman of “Union of veterans and war disabled in Afghanistan “Ardager” OO, Karaganda appealed to all guests, students, wishing them health and peaceful sky over head.
