Goals and objectives of the event:

  • familiarizing students with spiritual values through understanding the creative heritage of F.M. Dostoevsky and Ch.Ch. Valikhanov;
  • activation of the creative imagination of students, their desire to be involved in the national and world artistic tradition;
  • strengthening of universal and moral and spiritual values;
  • consolidation and addition of students’ knowledge about the historical and cultural heritage of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The highest stage in the history of Russian-Kazakh literary relations in the first half of the 19th century, more precisely in the 40-60s, was the most fruitful ideological and creative relationship of the first Kazakh enlightener Chokan Chingisovich Valikhanov (1835-1865) with outstanding representatives of Russian literature and culture.

Dostoevsky’s acquaintance with Valikhanov, their relationship, which turned into a strong friendship, became, in fact, the first intellectual and spiritual contact between the Russian and Kazakh people. This is why they are significant, this is why they are interesting in the 21st century.

If you try to answer the question of what could have connected Ch. Valikhanov and F. Dostoevsky, people who are completely different at first glance, then you immediately find the answer – humanism, love for the Motherland, striving for knowledge and self-knowledge. Serving the people was the meaning of life for them. How their thoughts echo and mutually complement each other: “… For the correct growth and development of the people, first of all, freedom and knowledge are necessary.” (Ch. Valikhanov) and the words of F. Dostoevsky: “The assignment” that life gives to every person, the highest goal that every person must serve, in essence, is simple: to walk your way so as to achieve happiness for all people, present and future».

The result of achieving the set goals of the event will be the popularization of F.M. Dostoevsky and the scientific works of Ch.Ch. Valikhanov, introducing the student audience to the study of their heritage.
