Cooperation with the technical University of Clausthal

Technical University Clausthal and Karaganda StateTechnical University support long-term cooperation. During the summer semestera group of 14 people from the fourth largest city in Kazakhstan with a four-dayvisit to the Institute of geotechnics and mine surveying (IGMC).

Students from Central Asia also visited the house, located in Clausthal, in which Nobel laureate Robert Koch as a child  lived for several years.

The relationship between the University, state technical University and Technical University of Clausthal began in 2005. Then Dmitry Moser, who finished graduate school in Kazakhstan were trained according to the three-month scholarship in IGMC. Contacts between Clausthal and Karaganda were strengthened in the coming years, in particular through the exchange of students. When you visit Kazakhstan in September 2010 the head of the Institute Professor Wolfgang Bush signed an agreement on cooperation between research institutions. Under the leadership of Dmitry Moser during this visit to the Technical University were students from Kazakhstan specialties Geodesy and mine surveying. Professor Bush told them what research is being conducted at the moment and introduced a collection of surveying and geodetic instruments Clausthal Institute.
