On June 19, a meeting with Nurlan Shagiyev, Head of the Organizational Personnel Development Department of the Kazakhmys Maintenance Services LLP, was held at the Institute of Continuous Education of Abylkas Saginov KTU. On our part, Director of the Institute of Continuous Education Nurlan Altynbekov, Head of the Power Systems Department Yelena Neshina and Head of the Technological Equipment, Mechanical Engineering and Standardization Department Vassili Yurchenko took part in it.
Nurlan Shagiyev, when noting that the enterprise is engaged in the repair of mining equipment and needs to improve the skills of specialists, mainly workers, asked the teaching staff of the University to help in their training. At the same time, he admitted that the management of the enterprise had a choice of where and to whom to turn with such a request. The same suppliers of expensive equipment offer to simultaneously train the personnel who will work on it. But Nurlan Shagiyev insisted that training should be carried out by people independent of suppliers and sufficiently knowledgeable in complex equipment. Being aware that our University has succeeded in training highly qualified personnel for enterprises related to the repair and operation of mining equipment, he convinced the management to cooperate with our teachers.
The purpose of this meeting was a preliminary discussion of the issues related to personnel training. The optimal time to start classes is from September-October, when the new academic year begins. Before the start, there is time to check the level of personnel training in order to divide it into groups of approximately equal knowledge levels, to determine the format in which the training will be conducted and how long it will take, to clarify a number of the other issues, and only then to proceed to signing the relevant agreement.
The mutual desire of the parties to speed up this process allows hoping that it will not drag on and classes with personnel will fully meet the expectations of the production workers.
