On June 3, a meeting with the chief specialist of the energy department of the branch of KazakhsmysCorporation LLP «Zhekazgantsvetmet» named after K. I. Satpayev, the mining and processing complex Maksat Taishygar was held at the Institute of сontinuing education of Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University. It was attended by the director of the Institute of continuing education N. Altynbekov, methodologist A. Orazbekova, dean of the faculty of Power Engineering and Automation F. As is known, in February of this year, a methane explosion occurred at the Zhomart mine, owned by Kazakhmys сorporation, killing seven miners. Before that, if such incidents occurred, they occurred in coal mines. In this case, we are talking about an ore mine. It turned out that they can also present such sad surprises that make us take safety issues even more seriously. According to statistics, the human factor is to blame for more than 70 percent of accidents. That is why the first thing they started with at the mines of Kazakhmyscorporation was training workers and engineering and technical personnel to avoid such incidents. And here we cannot do it on our own. The management of Kazakhmys corporation contacted Abylkas SaginovKaraganda Technical University so that our Institute of continuing education could conduct training sessions for mine personnel working with explosive equipment. It was for this purpose that the real meeting with M. Tashigar took place.
During the meeting, it became clear that the university has all the necessary opportunities for training personnel. There is an experienced teaching staff, well acquainted with working with explosive equipment and safety precautions, who is ready to conduct the necessary course of training. For his part, M. Tashigarpromised all possible assistance from the «Kazakhmysсorporation» in organizing the training. A number of other organizational issues were also discussed, preceding the signing of the relevant agreement.
Once it is signed, our Institute of continuing education is ready to begin conducting classes.
