On May 30, 2025, the Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University named after S. Seifullin hosted an International Scientific and Practical Conference on the topic: “Development of the Machine-Building Industry and Training of Highly Qualified Specialists of a New Formation: Current State, Challenges, and Solutions.” The event was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the prominent scientist, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Karibek Sherov.
The conference brought together leading scientists, educators, and young researchers from across Kazakhstan and abroad. Notably, representatives of Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University — mainly students and disciples of Professor Sherov — took active part in the event, demonstrating the continuity of scientific traditions and deep respect for his contribution to national science.
A congratulatory address on behalf of the Rector of Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University was delivered by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor A.S. Kadyrov. In his speech, he emphasized Professor Sherov’s outstanding scientific and pedagogical contributions, as well as his significant role in the development of engineering education and mechanical science in Kazakhstan.
Professor Karibek Sherov made a substantial contribution to the advancement of science at Karaganda Technical University, where he worked from 2007 to 2021. During this time, he served as an associate professor, professor, and head of department, establishing a scientific school that continues to operate successfully. Under his supervision, more than 15 PhD holders were trained, and he remains actively engaged in scientific and educational work, mentoring a new generation of scientists and engineers.
The conference served as an important platform for the exchange of views, discussion of pressing issues in the field, and the identification of promising directions for the development of mechanical engineering and technical education. It not only highlighted Professor Sherov’s valuable contribution to science but also demonstrated the strong and lasting connections between universities, scientific schools, and young professionals.
