Medgat Mussayev is a PhD and an Associate Professor.
He was born on January 20, 1990.
In 2011, he graduated from Karaganda State Technical University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering (specialty 5B071200).
From 2011 to 2013, he studied in the Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering (specialty 6M071200), and from 2014 to 2017 he pursued doctoral studies in Mechanical Engineering (specialty 6D071200) at Karaganda State Technical University.
On December 27, 2017, he successfully defended his PhD dissertation entitled “Research and Development of an Integrated Method for Processing High-Strength Materials.”
By the decision of the Committee for Control in the Sphere of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 13, 2018 (Order No. 246), he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering (specialty 6D071200).
From 2017 to 2020, he worked as a Senior Lecturer.
Since September 2020, he has held the position of Acting Associate Professor at the Department of Technological Equipment, Mechanical Engineering and Standardization of Karaganda Technical University.
On July 14, 2023, by the decision of the Committee for Control in the Sphere of Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Order No. 339), he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor (Docent) in Mechanical Engineering.
The scientific activity of M.M. Mussayev is focused on the development of resource-saving technologies for machining difficult-to-machine materials and on improving the wear resistance of cutting and forming tools. He has served as the principal investigator of grant-funded research projects supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including:
• AP08956387 “Development of a Prototype Universal Device Based on a Lathe for the Implementation of Turn-Milling Technology” (2020–2021);
• AP19578884 “Improving Wear Resistance and Enhancing the Design of Tools for Busbar Punching Machines” (2023–2025).
He is the author of more than 60 scientific publications, including:
• 3 monographs;
• 20 articles published in international peer-reviewed journals indexed in Web of Science and/or Scopus and having a CiteScore percentile;
• 12 articles published in journals recommended by the Committee.
He holds 8 patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as 7 certificates of state registration of copyrights of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
His Scopus h-index is 6.

He has completed professional development courses and research internships at foreign research organizations and higher education institutions, including:
• Saratov State Technical University, Russian Federation (2015);
• Keimyung University, Republic of Korea (2016);
• Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Republic of Lithuania (2016);
• Riga Technical University, Republic of Latvia (2023).
In 2020, he became a recipient of the State Research Scholarship of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for talented young scientists.
In 2021, he was awarded the title of “Best University Teacher.”
