International essay competition “Our Strength in Unity”

Among the main global contemporary problems of human interaction, the problem of building interethnic, interfaith relations is especially significant.

Russia and Kazakhstan are multinational states.  The policies pursued by the government of these countries are aimed at unity and rallying of peoples, not only within states, but also at cooperation and strategic partnership with other states.  The Kazakh poet E. Elubaev has a poem “The Richest Man” on how much we become richer with knowledge of each language and culture.

It is the exchange of linguistic and cultural skills, the unity of the people, peace and interethnic harmony that became the fundamental idea of holding an international essay competition.

From March 2 to March 20, 2020 the teaching staff of the Department of Russian Language and Culture of KSTU together with the teaching staff of the Orsk Humanitarian Technological Institute (branch) of OSU hold an international essay competition “Our Strength in Unity”.  Students of KSTU and Orsk Humanitarian and Technological Institute (branch) of OSU from 1 to 4 courses take part in the event.  Students communicate through social networks, for which a Vkontakte chat is created under the competition logo.  The essay languages are Russian and Kazakh.  The essay should not exceed 100 words.  Each essay published on the pages of the forum should be tested for plagiarism (at least 55% of the uniqueness of the text, help, a scan report on plagiarism is posted along with the essay on the page).

The international essay competition will be held in 3 stages:

Stage 1 runs from March 4 to March 16 – publication of an essay;

Stage 2 – from March 17 to March 19 – voting for your favorite work;

Stage 3 March 19-20 – summing up the results of the competition, rewarding the winners.
