Young people in jackets with flickers danced on the main avenue of Karaganda


15 November 2016, the police held an action ‘Zasvetis’ in Karaganda on Bukhar-Zhyrau avenue near Independence stele, this event was attended by KSTU students enrolled by the program ‘Serpin-2050’.

‘The event is timed to the Week of road safety. 15 November is celebrated annually as the World Day of remembrance of road traffic victims, established by the UN General Assembly.

The aim of the campaign is to promote reflective elements (flickers) to improve the safety of pedestrians’. The staff of the local police service of DIA was the initiators. University students, activists of youth organizations took participation. Young people in jackets with flickers formed a ‘light wave’ with the help of wands. The participants danced on the avenue, attracting the attention of drivers and pedestrians. If the clothing has no reflective elements while you are crossing the street at the dark time, you can use the flashlight on cell phone, the police advised.
