This event is held in order to develop the future professionals’ sense of patriotism, attract their interest in creativity, expanding the aesthetic worldview and outlook, as well as skills of collective communication.
The rector’s ball at Karaganda State Technical University has been held since 2013 and has become an annual traditional event.
The idea of the ball belongs to the student bodies of the University and supported by the University administration.
Following the example of KSTU, since 2015 city youth charity balls have been held. Since 2016, the rector’s balls are held in KSMU.
65 pairs of KSTU students with achievements in education, scientific and social activities, who passed the appropriate selection, took part in KSTU Rector’s ball – 2018.
The guests of honor of the ball were representatives of public organizations of the city, elders — members of the Council for spiritual and moral education, Council of veterans of the University, parents of students, teachers and staff. The participants of the international student forum “Global initiatives of Kazakhstan: youth view” from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union and Shanghai cooperation organization attended the ball as guests of honor.
Honoring and awarding the winners of the competitions “Best student”, “Best curator”, “Best head”, “Best group”, “Best dorm room”, “Best professional bureau of the faculty” were held under the ball at the end of the current academic year.
The hosts of the evening were Duman Akim and Amirtaeva Nurgul. 5 classic dance, dance with guests, performances by students of KSTU with the creative rooms were performed under the program. Out of 65 pairs, the jury selected 7 pairs of candidates (according to the results of online voting of students, quality of performance, visiting rehearsals).
At the end of the event a couple who won the competition “King and Queen” — students of the group AiU-17-2 from Faculty of Electronics, Automation and Telecommunications Toleu Temirlan and Smailova Damira was announced.
Audience award was given to the couple – a student of the group GD-16-1 Department of Mining Shaimulik Nurlan, a student of the group MET-15-2 from Engineering Faculty Kussbekova Meruert.
All of them and a couple of candidates received prizes from the sponsors of the ball.
