Training by master’s programs


The SKOLKOVO Institute of science and technology (Skoltech) is accepting applications for training in master’s programs, training which will begin in the autum of 2015:

Information Sciences and technology

  • Information and computing technologies
  • Energy science and technology
  • Energy system
  • Oil and gas extraction
  • Science and technology of new materials

Applications are accepted on apply.skoltech.ru until February 16, 2015 (9:00 Moscow time) for citizens of the Russian Federation and before January 19, 2015 for foreign citizens (9:00 Moscow time).

Admission requirements:

Applicants must be studying in the final year of a bachelor degree or have a diploma of  higher education (master’s, specialist’s, bachelor) on  one of the following specialties: engineering Sciences, mathematics, applied science, physics, chemistry, biology or related field. Students specializing in Humanities or social Sciences must possess advanced knowledge in the field corresponding to one of the four programs of Skoltech.

GPA: high academic achievement. The expected average score of 4.5 or higher on a 5-point scale (or equivalent in accordance with any adopted system in the world).

English proficiency: when applying online to submit results of TOEFL or IELTS is not required. However, applicants are advised to sit for these exams, as members of the Selection weekend will be tested for English proficiency. The average score of TOEFL of the students of Skoltech – 99/120. Those who have passed the TOEFL test in advance, you must specify a code of Skoltech for the TOEFL – 2909. Only the official results of the TOEFL or IELTS are accepted. Received for admission to another educational institution the results of the TOEFL or IELTS will not be accepted.

Need to pass the TOEFL or IELTS are exempt native speakers of English (this applies to students who were born in USA, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand), as well as students previously received a diploma of higher education in the United States, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand.

Graduate Record Exam (GRE) for admission to Skoltech is not required. However, we welcome the presence of the General GRE. Official test results should be sent to Skoltech through educational testing (ETS). Code of Skoltech for the GRE – 1294.

Academic help: need to provide a transcript from all institutions where you have studied previously received. To the online application, you must attach copies of all transcripts  in electronic form, and incoming students will be asked to provide an official statement printing, which is sent directly from the University in the envelope with its logo at the following address:
