16 November 2016, at11: 00, a meeting of the faculty and students of KSTU headed by the rector academician A.M. Gazaliev with the Chairman of the Board of ‘Egemen Kazakhstan’ JSC republican newspaper Kydyrali Darkhan Kuandykovich in Karaganda State Technical University.

A brief history of the ‘Egemen Kazakhstan’ newspaper
It will be 100 years in three years, since the first Republican newspaper ‘Egemen Kazakhstan’ was issued, which was originally called ‘Ushkyn’. In different years, famous figures, outstanding figures of the Kazakh people, as Berniyaz Kuleyev, Smagul Saduakasov, Zhusipbek Aymauytov, Mukhtar Auezov, Beimbet Maylin, Saken Seyfullin, Turar Ryskulov, Uraz Zhandosov, Gabit Musrepov, Sherkhan Murtaza, Abish Kekilbayev and many others made a huge contribution to formation and development of the issue.
The newspaper in its history changed its name several times and was called ‘Ushkyn’, ‘Enbek Tuy’, ‘Enbekshi Kazakh’, ‘Sotsialdy Kazakhstan’, ‘Sotsialistik Kazakhstan’ at different times. After Independence, it was called ‘Egemendi Kazakhstan’, and it was called ‘Egemen Kazakhstan’ from 1993 to the present day. It has a circulation of 170 000 copies.
The newspaper is printed in all regional centers and in Astana and Almaty. Publishing has its own website (egemen.kz), Internet edition and weekly app ‘Etzhendi’.
It has own correspondents in 14 regions and its correspondence office works in Almaty.
Over a hundred people work in the joint stock company.

Darkhan Kuandykovich received the title of Honorary doctor of the Institute of Language and literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan recently at the international meeting in Baku, devoted to the 90th anniversary of the first Congress of Turkology.
