Educational work of the Mining Faculty!
The goal of educating students is the versatile development of the personality of a future specialist with a higher professional education, who has a high culture, intelligence, social activity, and the character of a patriotic citizen. The main task is to create conditions for the active life of students, their self-determination and self-realization, the maximum satisfaction of the needs for intellectual, cultural and moral development. Actual tasks of educational activity: – formation of personal qualities necessary for effective professional activity; – formation of students’ civic position and patriotic consciousness, legal and political culture; – development in the teaching environment of an attitude towards students as subjects of their own development; – education of moral qualities, intelligence; – instilling the skills and abilities of team management in various forms of student self-government; — preservation and enhancement of the historical and cultural traditions of the university and the institute.
1928 students study in 100 academic groups of the GF. Educational work is carried out by a curator assigned to each group. In all groups, curator hours are held weekly according to the plan of curator hours drawn up by the curator of the group at the beginning of each semester and the model of patriotic education adopted at the Abylkas Saginov KarTU. Each curator also conducts unscheduled work with students, namely, conversations about offenses, compliance with internal regulations, the dangers of smoking, alcoholism and drug addiction, AIDS prevention, the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, and prevention of religious extremism.
The GF groups are actively working with students’ parents via WhatsApp, Mail.ru e-mail. Parents of students have mailboxes, and actively receive reports from curators on their children’s studies and are fully informed about the life of both the institute and the university as a whole. With students who systematically miss classes, as well as their parents, individual preventive work is carried out through telephone communication, personal conversations, invitations to department meetings, where such cases are considered in detail and disciplinary measures are applied to such students. Once a month, meetings of the Council of Curators are held in the Global Fund, at which the deputy. the dean for educational work and senior curators of the departments of RMPI, GRMPI, MD&G RAiOT analyze the curatorial hours and report on the educational work carried out in the groups of the faculty. Close attention is paid to students living in dormitories of KarTU. Teaching staff are on duty in dormitories, investigate the living conditions of students, find out the problems and difficulties that accompany nonresident students during their studies and living away from their parents. GF students are active members of the Trade Union of Students of KarTU “Zhas Orda”, which organizes and conducts various events both within the faculty and on the scale of KarTU named after Abylkas Saginov.
