Smirnova Galina Mikhailovna

Academic degree, academic title: Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, associate professor of pedagogy, academician of the International Eurasian Academy of ecology and life safety
In 1984, she graduated from Order of Labour Red banner Karaganda Polytechnic Institute majoring in “Mechanical engineering” with qualification of engineer-teacher of machine-building disciplines. Since 1988, she worked in Karaganda Pedagogical Institute as a lecturer, senior lecturer. Since 1989, she worked in E.A.Buketov Karaganda State University as a lecturer, senior lecturer, since 2004 – head.of the Department “General technical disciplines and methods of labor training.” In 2003, she defended the dissertation on competition of a scientific degree of Candidate of Sciences on speciality 13.00.08 – Theory and methodology of professional education; in 2006, she was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor of Pedagogy.
Since 2008, she had worked in Karaganda State Technical University on position of head of Department “Methodology of control and entrepreneurship”, in 2009 – Director of the Research Institute of vocational and technical education and head of the Interdisciplinary training of pedagogical workers of technical and vocational education center, from 2014, director of Engineering Pedagogy Center (EPC).
Since 2012 – academician of the Eurasian International Academy of Ecology and Life safety.
In 2013 – winner of the title “Best University teacher 2013” of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2013, she was awarded the honorary diploma of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for long-term work in the field of education and upbringing of the young generation.
Since 2015 – a member of the Expert Council «Training and methodological center of education development of Karaganda region» Department of Education of Karaganda region.
Galina Mikhailovna is actively engaged in research activities, regularly participates in scientific conferences at international, national and regional level.
She has a high scientific potential – since 2006 she is the research supervisor of the state budget in the field of vocational education.
She is a supervisor of projects on the following themes:
- “Development of scientific-theoretical bases of qualification improvement system modernization of professionally-pedagogical personnel” in the framework of the budget program “Grant funding” within the framework of fundamental research in the area of economic, social and human sciences (2012-2014);
- “Improving the quality of training of technical and serving work on the basis of social partnership” for applied scientific research in the field of education on theme (2009-2011)
She held research as a contractor for applied scientific research in the field of education on themes “Development of an innovative approach to the training of engineering pedagogical personnel for industrial-innovative development of Kazakhstan” and “Development of scientific-practical bases of the innovation system of vocational guidance of young people in terms of socio-economic modernization of Kazakhstan” (2015-2017), “Determination of the forecasted staffing requirements of technical and serving work”, “Providing competitiveness of graduates of technical and vocational education institutions” (2009-2011), “Development of social partnership model between universities and employers” (2006-2009).
She has over 100 published works, including monographs, textbooks, copyright certificates of intellectual property.
Sphere of scientific interests of Smirnova G.M. covers such areas as vocational education, system of training specialists, social partnership, dual training.
She was a participant of such international projects as TEMPUS QUEECA “Quality of engineering education in countries of Central Asia”, European Education Foundation – “Development of vocational schools for learning throughout life in the stans of Central Asia”, International centre for communication and development (Bulgaria) – “Profession without borders”, German society for international development (GIZ) “Support of vocational education in the Republic of Kazakhstan” and etc.
She participated in events of experience exchange “Staff professionalization of vocational education system and training, education and business” (in Braunschweig, Wolfsburg, Germany, 2016)
She was a member of the group for the study of international experience of vocational education projects of Supporting Fund for vocational education (RKK, Norway, Stavanger), German Society for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) – “Vocational education of girls and women and support the education reform process in RK”.
In 2011, Smirnova G.M. was awarded the title of International Society for Engineering Pedagogy (IGIP) International teacher of engineering disciplines”.
In 2013, she acted as a national expert in the DCI Programme of the European Union to the Republic of Kazakhstan – project: GIZ/GOPA “Support to vocational education in the Republic of Kazakhstan”- Component 6 “Internship” – organization of teachers training for the study of the experience of dual training implementation and consultant at KSU “Karaganda Mechanical Engineering College” in the framework of the project “Modernization of technical and vocational education” under grant No. 109 dated 21.11.2013, funded for the odd loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
