Was born in May 31, 1949 in Karaganda. He graduated from the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Karaganda Polytechnic Institute. He began his career as an engineer and junior research assistant in Department of Welding Karaganda Polytechnic Institute. Since 1976 he worked as a teacher in the same department. In 1975 he graduated from the Central Institute of patents in Moscow. In 1978-198 he trained a postgraduate study at the Institute of Arc Welding of Paton of Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kiev. In 1985 he defended his candidate dissertation on “High-performance plasma-powder cladding of high speed steels” theme. In 1987 he became a docent of welding KarPTI. He have became Head of the department “Equipment and Welding Technology” from 2004 to 2008, since 2010 he is Head of Department of “Welding and Foundry” department.
He teaches welding discipline, “Production and installation of welded structures”, “Technology and equipment for fusion welding”, “Technology and welding equipment”, “Theory of welding processes”, “Power supplies for welding,” “Basics of welded structures.”
He worked like part-time as main welder in machine works about 2 years. For 10 years he has taught non-destructive control of welded joints of the course. More than 5 years he is in certification of welders and welding engineers. Since October of 2010 he is Executive Director of the Kazakhstan Institute of Welding, and he was in organization activity of it, from March 2011 – also chairman of the Technical Coordination Committee of the Kazakhstan Association of welding KazWeld. He organized 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16th Republican Conference on Welding and Control in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015.
Results of Bartenev science activity is reflected in more than 70 scientific publications, including 2 manuals, 9 patents.
