Students of the Confucius Institute at the Karaganda state technical University won prizes in the national competition “Chinese Bridge-2015″ (Astana, May 17, 2015).
This competition consisted of three rounds. First round: to talk in Chinese about yourself; the second is to answer 15 questions; the third is to perform a creative task.
The event was attended by participants enrolled in courses of Chinese language Confucius Institutes on the basis of KazNU named after Al- Farabi, ENU named after L. N. Gumilev, KSTU and ASPI (Aktobe).
Students of KI KSTU Marzhan Ergeshova and Aigerim Abildina showed the best result, winning 1st and 2nd places. 3 place among schoolchildren won Ayaushan Saparbaeva.
The winners of the Republican contest “Chinese Bridge” Marzhan Ergeshova, Aigerim Abildina and Ayaushan Saparbayeva will represent Kazakhstan at the world competition “Chinese Bridge-2015″, which will be held in China this summer with representatives from 460 Confucius Institutes.
“Chinese bridge” is an international student competition, which was developed and funded by the Chinese government with the aim of spreading all over the world Chinese language and culture. Since 2002 it has been held annually. The competition provides the opportunity for the best students to demonstrate proficiency in the Chinese language and to show their knowledge in the field of culture, history, art, geography, music, literature of China.
The Confucius Institute at KSTU opened in 2012. Today it boasts more than 70 students and is the youngest and the only one in Kazakhstan the Confucius Institute, which operates on the basis of a technical university.
