On 26 January, there will be the regional stage of the torch relay of the 28th World Winter Universiade.
Torch relay with 12 km length will be held in Karaganda and Temirtau. The entire route will be divided into stages, each of them will be of 200 meters. Special Commission selected the best 60 torchbearers.
The beginning of fire ceremony will take place from blast furnace No. 2 ‘ArcelorMittal Temirtau’ JCS. Then the action will be transferred to Karaganda State Industrial University. At the same time, students of Mining faculty of Karaganda State Technical University will go down the mine and extract coal, and then they will deliver it to the main cauldron in the ice palace ‘Karaganda arena’.
Torchbearers of Temirtau in Karaganda will be met by a solemn meeting with participation of akim of the city at the stadium ‘Shakhter’.
At the end of the Torch Relay, there will be the holiday show in the ice palace ‘Karaganda arena’. The fire in a special envelope will be sent by the plane to Almaty, accompanied by the technical delegate of the torch relay Abylaykhan Zhussupov.
