In accordance with the decision of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan state universities introduced Supervisory Boards. This is important step towards systemic reform of higher education of the republic. The Supervisory Boards, which include business leaders, well-known scientists, public figures and representatives of the authorities, carry out collegial corporate governance and public control of university activities in world’s leading universities. Their responsibilities include the definition of the university strategy, including its development program, the decision of personnel and financial matters.
Governance of high educational institutions of Kazakhstan intends to introduce collective control. The corporate governance system contributes to transparency and anti-corruption.
The Supervisory Board of Karaganda State Technical University was created by order No.353 of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 18, 2014. It includes the heads of the structure-forming enterprises of Kazakhstan, representatives of scientific and public organizations.
