“The integration of science, education and production is the basis
implementation of the Plan of the nation” (Saginov readings No. 11)
On June 14 – 15, 2019, the international scientific-practical conference “Integration of science, education and production – the basis for the implementation of the Plan of the Nation” was held at the Karaganda State Technical University (Saginov Readings No. 11).
The Conference received a number of welcome addresses from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akim of the Karaganda Region, heads of industrial enterprises and companies of the Corporate University innovative educational consortium operating on the basis of KSTU, rectors of higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan, near and far abroad.
The main goal of the Conference was to provide an interactive platform for discussing problems and ways to solve them in the main areas of development of higher technical education, technological modernization of industry. A special place is given to the issues of digitalization of production processes, Industry 4.0, IT and SMART technologies, energy and resource conservation, which occupy a central place in the fourth industrial revolution.
Over the two days of the conference, more than 600 people took part in it – representatives of 104 enterprises and organizations of Kazakhstan, near and far abroad, including heads and leading specialists of the largest industrial enterprises of Kazakhstan – ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC, Kazakhmys Corporation LLP, JSC “Sokolovsko-Sarbaisky mining and processing production association” and others (665 reports).
The plenary session of the Conference was opened by the rector of KSTU, doctor of technical sciences, professor, academician of KazNANS Ibatov M.K. with a report “Innovative and entrepreneurial technical university as a driver of accelerated technological modernization of the region”, which presents the contribution of KSTU to the development of the region.
The plenary session was attended by heads of government agencies, industrial enterprises, leading scientists. Presented the results of scientific research conducted by scientists of Kazakhstan, Great Britain, Germany, France, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are presented. Within the regional Council on science, innovations and new technologies under the leadership of the akim of Karaganda region E.Zh. Koshanova is a constant and effective interaction of KSTU scientists with the leading enterprises of the region on the introduction of digital technologies, remote access systems in the monitoring and control of technological processes. The effective integration of science, education and production in the training of specialists is ensured by the Corporate University innovation and educational consortium operating on the basis of KSTU, which includes such enterprises of the mining and metallurgical complex as Arcelor Mittal Temirtau and Kazakhmys Corporation, “Shubarkol Komir”, “Zhairemsky GOK” and others.
Digital technologies developed by KSTU scientists have been introduced at the enterprises of the mining and metallurgical complex – Kazakhmys Corporation LLP, Sokolovsko-Sarbaisky mining and processing production association JSC, ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC, Altyntau Kokchetau JSC, Altynalmas JSC, Zhairemsky GOK JSC, JSC “Shubarkol komir”, JSC “Altaypolymetals” and others. KSTU scientists, in particular, have developed and successfully implemented geomechanical monitoring at these enterprises to ensure the stability of quarry sides using 3D scanners and digital systems for remote monitoring of the operation modes of high-voltage substations and excavators. The project “Development of the Kazakhstan system for the automation of technological preparation of production” for the machine-building industry is being implemented with the creation of a national product in the form of software that will be implemented at “Maker” LLP of Kazakhmys Corporation. In association with the Karaganda branch of KEGOC JSC, on an initiative basis, research and testing of the components of the digital protection system and diagnostics of high-voltage power lines (VLEP-500) are carried out using Smart sensors, GSM communication channels, the Internet and SCADA systems. At the stage of approval, there is a project to create, on the basis of digital equipment and technology, systems for the technical accounting of electricity and the mass of ore processed at the mills of the Nurkazgan concentration plant, Kazakhmys Corporation LLP, with subsequent introduction into production.
Within the framework of the Road Map of KSTU for 2019 on the implementation of the projects of the Year of Youth, projects are being developed by young scientists to digitalize industrial processes related to the creation of control systems for robotic complexes with remote access, fiber-optic sensors to provide high-precision monitoring of industrial facilities, prototypes of sailing wind farms with adaptive management system based on digitalization.
According to the project of scientists of KSTU “Improving the corrosion resistance of ferrous and non-ferrous metals through the use of halloysite nanotubes” at the Karaganda Machine-Building Plant named after Parkhomenko created a production site for the production of regenerating coatings of machine parts and metal structures. Innovative technology has already been introduced in ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC and KazPromExport LLP. Interest in an effective new product was shown by “Maker” LLP, Imstalkon JSC, Balkhashtsvetmet LLP, and the military industry of Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of the Conference, a panel discussion was held on the topic “IT and Innovations in Mining”, in which representatives of science and business represented by the Director General of K-MINE Nazarenko M.V. participated, as well as 11 sections on the problems of training specialists, technological modernization of the mining and metallurgical complex and related industries.
At the closing of the Conference, the reports of the chairmen of the sections were heard, the best scientific reports of scientists were marked with certificates and letters of thanks.
As a result of the Conference, a resolution was adopted which noted that the Karaganda State Technical University, occupying a leading position in the country’s technical education system, is a fruitful dialogue platform for the effective integration of education, science and industry not only at the republican, but also at the international level.
