Rating of higher educational institutions: European standard


The European Science and Industry Chamber has published a “Rating of higher educational institutions: European standard”, five of 23 universities of Kazakhstan have been included into ranking. Among the best Kazakh universities are: Kazakh National Technical University named after Satpaev, Eurasian National University named after Gumilev, Karaganda State Technical University, Innovative University of Eurasia, Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi.

The Eurorating-2013 has assessed 2,678 universities from around the world, including 23 Kazakh universities. Universities were ranked on a 9-point international scale system in terms of regions. Five Kazakh universities were included in the “BBB+” group – «sufficient high ranking» (high enough). The rating was conducted by EU standards, worked out for higher education. Basic parameters of the rating included indicators such as science, international cooperation, demand for graduates, informatization level training, international recognition, membership in the European Academy of Sciences, awards of the European Chamber of Commerce and the European Commission.

The Eurorating ranking applies a network approach and takes into account European standards such as the role of the university in the region, monitoring of scientific and educational process, computerization of the educational process, the role of students in the evaluation of the quality of teaching, the internal policy of the university in the field of quality education.
