KSTU’s teacher – the winner of NURINTECH 2017 in “Best young scientist” nomination


On 27 December 2017, a solemn ceremony of awarding winners of the Republican youth competition of innovative projects NURINTECH-2017 was held in the party “Nur Otan” (Astana).

One million KZT were given to the winners of “Nurintech-2017” competition. More than 20 young scientists became the winners of Republican youth contest of innovative projects. The best innovators from all corners of Kazakhstan were congratulated by the First Deputy Chairman of “Nur Otan” Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed. Opening the ceremony, Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed reminded that the competition NURINTECH was organized by the party on the initiative of the head of state.

The aim of the competition is to attract young people of Kazakhstan to research and innovation activities. Citizens of Kazakhstan aged from 14 to 29 years, as well as scientific groups and creative teams, upon condition that the age of the head of the project and more than 50 percent of key participants does not exceed 29 years can participate in the competition. It is held on five nominations: “Socially important innovation”, “Technostart”, “Best young scientist”, “Youth innovative project”, “Perspective”. Those wishing to participate must provide independently executed innovative projects with new scientific, engineering, research or practical results. Innovative projects in areas such as agroinnovation, chemical technology, nanotechnology and biotechnology, green energy, robotics, transportation, IT-technologies, aerospace technologies, medical equipment and technology, 3D industry and social innovation are accepted for participation.

This year the competition is held for the second time. More than 1000 applications, these are 1000 unique innovative projects of the young scientists of the country worked upon, were sent to Competition Committee.

The membership of the expert group included public figures, representatives of state bodies, business community, members of Parliament and the youth wing “Zhas Otan”. The Commission selected 25 most developed, popular and economically beneficial projects. Protection of works also took place with the use of information technology: 13 finalists presented their inventions in the Central apparatus of the party, and 12 were performed via video-conferencing.

The first place winners were awarded cash certificates in the amount of 1 million KZT, the second – 500 thousand KZT, the third – 250 thousand KZT. Grant for payment of the 1st course in higher education of Kazakhstan received the winner of the nomination “Perspective”.

A teacher of the NTM department Erbol Shabanov won 1st place and certificate in the amount of 1 million KZT by the result of the competition in the nomination “Best young scientist”. He has developed a unique cost saving technology smelting new alloys. In this category the winners also were Gaukhar Smagulova from Zhambyl Region, who invented the high-efficiency solar collectors with nano-coating and Bauyrzhan Rakhadilov from East Kazakhstan Region, who submitted the concept of innovative technology for the hardening of cutting metals.
