Campaign to help human settlements affected by floods


From April 21, the University launched an ambitious campaign to help human settlements affected by floods. In the action took part university staff and students. Call for help and compassion for staff and students of the University asked the rector of KSTU, academician of NAS RK Gazaliev Arystan Maulenovich. April 20, the University announced a fundraiser for the victims.

Students and staff of the University continuous flow carry things and food to the victims to the Palace of youth “Zhastar Alemi”, which houses temporary warehouse. Collected  material assistance, which will be credited to the “Fund for victims of the floods in the Karaganda region”.

100 students of the University on April 21 went to town of  Gabiden Mustafin. The village (old name tokarivka), located 30 km from the city of Karaganda, suffer from water – flooded 90 per cent of homes. This day was held here Saturday to address the impacts of flooding. Over 400 tons of garbage were removed from the flooded village.

On April 22, a group of activists KSTU took collected by the staff of the University and students of humanitarian assistance to families affected by the disaster in the village Balyktykol. Downloaded was in the Gazelle and delivered balistically more than half a ton of pasta, rice and pearl barley, 100 kg of vegetable oil, tea, confectionery, personal care items, as well as women’s, men’s clothing and shoes.

Within two weeks the University will continue the campaign to help flood victims. 3-4 times a week by road KSTU will be delivered humanitarian aid to the flooded area.
