Best practices for effective methane recovery and use in coal mines


October 4, 2016, the University will host a Round table on the theme “Best practices in effective methane recovery and use at coal mines”. The round table will be attended by specialists from Kazakhstan, USA, UK, Mexico, Russia and Ukraine.

This event is intended to provide an opportunity for Kazakhstani specialists in the field of gas drainage and ventilation to get acquainted with international experience in the extraction of coalmine gas, as well as advanced approaches to stimulate projects for its beneficial use to increase the level of mine safety, reduce the level of harmful emissions into the atmosphere and use this non-traditional, environmentally energy source. In addition, a round table will provide an opportunity for local professionals to discuss vital issues and problems arising in the course of mining operations in the Karaganda coal basin directly with leading international experts.
