On April 29 of last year, within the framework of the program “Tugan Zher”, initiated by the head of state Nursultan Nazarbayev in the article “Looking to the future: modernization of public consciousness”, laying of “KSTU professors’ alley” was held.
On that day, on own initiative 47 professors of the University – students and associates of the academician Saginov Abylkas Saginovich planted pine as a symbol of constant renewal purchased at own expense.
This was the beginning of large-scale works to create a new landscape of the University in the form of a green belt of landscaped gardens with small architectural forms and walking areas.
The first squares – “Professprs’ alley” and the beginning of “Graduates’s alley” have already been created and are available not only for students, teachers and staff of the University, but also for all citizens.
University musical fountain, a monument to the founder of the University – academician Abylkas Saginovich Saginov immediately after the opening became popular places for many residents of the city, and the modern campus of our University became the hallmark of the historical centre of the city.
It is symbolic that the panoramic picture of our campus this year became the winner of the photo contest “My Karaganda”.
In the creation of “Professors’s alley” and “Graduates’ alley” our sponsors –University alumni have made significant contributions. On their initiative, they decorated the alleys with a beautiful entrance and modern sidewalks, which organically fit into the architecture of the University campus.
19 new trees of “Professors’s alley” is an initiative of our departments, who appealed to the University administration requesting the planting of pine trees due to the grateful students in honor of the founders of scientific schools, organizers and heads of departments of the University: professors Daniyarov A.N., Byrka V.F., Graschenkov N.F., Shevtsov E.I., Popov I.I., Kwon S.S., Kashikov Sh.K., Berkaliyev B.T., Battakov S.B., Okatov R.P., Kogay L.I., Akimbekov A.K., Hamimolda B.Zh., Smagulov Z.M., Aziyev A.M., Shvoyev V.F. Pines were also planted in honor of professors Piven G.G., Nurguzhin M.R., Solovyov V.I.
