Academician Shakhmardan Yessenov Science and Education Foundation announces a contest for the provision of nominal monthly student scholarships*. The term of scholarship: 12 months (from May 2018 to April 2019).
Applicants must study at Kazakh higher educational institution on 2-3 year of undergraduate or 1st year of master course and be a citizen of Kazakhstan.
Students studying in geological, technical, engineering, IT specialties can participate in the competition.
Students of internal form of study (both budgetary and extrabudgetary) can participate in the contest.
The amount of the monthly scholarship is 25 000 kzt. The appointment of a scholarship does not cancel a student’s right to receive a state scholarship, including an increased one.
Preference in the selection of fellows will be made in accordance with the following criteria:
- number of “excellent” grades for the current year of study (GPA of not less than 3);
* active participation in student science and technical conferences;
* active participation in the public life of the Institute/University.
Selection of students will be carried out by the Expert Council on the results of the 2 rounds described below. The decision of the Expert Council is reviewed and approved by the Board of Trustees of the Foundation.
For participation in competition applicants must submit in electronic form the following documents to Foundation’s mail info@yessenovfoundation.org until 4 March 2018:
*application form (available on the Foundation’s website yessenovfoundation.org);
* recommendation of the supervisor (head of the undergraduate/ graduate program, head of the Department);
* motivational letter: “How do you see your contribution to the education and science of Kazakhstan. What is important to you and why?”(any form of address: audio, video, written);
* copy of identity card;
* transcript (average score should not be below 3);
* a copy of the diploma of higher education for master students (bachelor, specialist).
The contest consists of two rounds. Until mid-April, the list of twenty holders of academician Shakhmardan Yessenov scholarships will be published.
By submitting an application to participate in the contest, the student automatically confirms his / her consent to the processing of personal data.
